VISUAL INSTRUCTIONS MODULE
Preparation of Machine/Equipment-Specific Visual Instructions:
The aim of preparing a machine/equipment-specific visual instruction is to ensure that all employees are aware of hazardous energy sources in the eked/loto implementation on the relevant machine. Thus, a standard will be established on the specific implementation of the lock out – tag out system to all the machines in a plant/factory.
It refers to the document prepared by the site officers that indicates how to de-energize and lock the points to be deenergized in areas specific to factory departments. The following information is available in the site and equipment Visual EKED/ LOTO site instructions;
⦁ Site, equipment and machine photographs
⦁ Necessary EKED/LOTO devices
⦁ EKED/LOTO application point/points
⦁ EKED/LOTO application point codes
⦁ Information on energy sources and special components to be locked and tagged
⦁ List of all energy isolation tools
Firstly, general photographs of the machine/line are taken from different angles with the Visual Instructions Module. Machine code or line name is added. Operations requiring lock out-tag out are added. The hazardous energy sources on the machine/line (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanic) are identified. The photographs of these energy isolation points are taken. Limitless number of energy isolation points can be added. Also a corrective action report on the suitability of the energy points for locking is prepared. The location of the energy point in the field allows to specify the lock out – tag out device to be used in the eked/loto application method. The locking points are shown distinctly on the photographs with energy symbols and arrows. Photographs can be added and marked in the section of points to consider regarding residual energy (discharging the residual energy in the system, absorbing the residual energy, etc.).
This module allows automatic creation of the document, following the completion of the document number, developed by – checked by – approved by - sections regarding the instruction. It allows the selection of the personal protective equipment to be used when conducting EKED/LOTO work in the relevant area.
Provides the automatic creation of instructions (pics, notes, PPE selection) with the data entered by the mobile phone or tablet computer at the factory or on the plant site, allowing it to be saved as a pdf, image for printing.
TRACEABILITY MODULE:
The purpose of the traceability module is to monitor the working of the employees in the field of EKED / LOTO and to send the data to the authorized person via the barcode system. With this module, based on the work done, the locking and tagging of the energy insulation points can be managed by the authorized persons. If the EKED / LOTO implementation is not properly done, the system can be adjusted and updated immediately.
With the traceability module, the user information of the employee is recorded with a photo and user id. With these registrations, a 2D barcode lock is created and these barcodes can be scanned into the barcode reader in the lock out-tag out procedures and attached on the corresponding energy point in the field. If the appropriate points are not locked within the designated time period, the managers will be informed by SMS or e-mail immediately. In addition, a warning system has been developed for incompletely read codes in group work.
All the locking-labeling work done with the traceability module will be recorded and reported. It will also be possible to obtain graphical results.
INSPECTION MODULE:
The purpose of the inspection module is to ensure that the accuracy of the EKED / LOTO work carried out by the field staff is checked. This check can be done automatically with the question list produced. If any nonconformity is detected on the scene, these nonconformities can be reported and managers can be notified by SMS or e-mail.
It may constitute a visual evidence for the nonconformities in the EKED/LOTO activities. It may match the energy points within the site with the person who locked them. It may inspect the sub-employer management, shift change, multiple lock out application or group lock out activities with the inspection module.
The nonconformities detected may constitute a schedule for actions to be taken as a result of the nonconformities.
